“My fiance and I were riding on my motorbike and close to the traffic circle I suddenly saw 3 black guys jump up and run to us, ” said local resident Patrick Honeyborne.

“They tried to stop us and I just rode on. They then threw huge rocks at us that shattered against the back of my helmet and the front of hers. I drove like hell to get to the police station,” added Honeyborne.

According to Honeyborne, the Police were unable to help him and he then went to Smhart security who sent out a vehicle to search for the suspects.

The Aston Bay road is regarded by many residents to be a accident waiting to happen.

The cattle walking alongside the road is ever increasing in number and there are a lot of pedestrians crossing the road who are sometimes difficult to spot at night due to insufficient lighting.

There are no facilities in the Ocean View suburb, which means residents have to walk to the shops in Pellsrus to buy their necessities.

Adding to the complication is that motorists feel unsafe and therefore might drive a bit faster than normal to exit the perceived danger zone.
