Residents are urged to avoid the Jeffreys Bay CBD tomorrow morning as the Municipal strike is expected to gather in momentum.

Strikers will gather from the surrounding towns like Humansdorp tomorrow to march on the Municipal building in da Gama Road.

The roads in Jeffreys Bay were strewn with rubbish yesterday.

There is concern that vandalism could occur as the tyres of a car were slashed at the Municipality today.

The marchers will gather at the Caltex garage at 7.30 am and then march down to da Gama road. Motorists are advised to avoid this area entirely and use other routes in Jeffreys Bay tomorrow morning.

The Jeffreys Bay Community Police Forum (CPF) advised that residents as well as shop owners in the vicinity of the Municipality exercise caution tomorrow, even though the Police are well equipped to handle any disturbance of the peace.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Jeffreys Bay also urged residents to avoid going to the Municipality as the building would be locked to protect any officials who do report to work.
