Despite continued Police and Neighbourhood Watch operations, the house robberies in Wavecrest continue unabated. Palm Cresent and Oleander Street remain problem areas.
There has been a lot of activity in the Noorsekloof and Palm Cresent part of Wavecrest recently and residents are encouraged to take the necessary precautions to ensure they do not become a victim of crime in their own homes.
The Tecoma Street Park is also a problem area with a group of people living in the bushes at present. The Kouga Municipality, the CPF and the Police have raided the area but have been unable to rid the sand dunes of the bush sleepers. Last night there was a lot of shouting and screaming reported from the Park.
It is time that this area known as Lower Point be sorted out in a similar fashion to the Supertubes Park. The razor wire erected by the Supertubes Surfing Foundation has solved many problems in this Park and the time has come for Lower Point to be upgraded as well.
The next CPF meeting is on Monday night at the Police Station at 6 Pm. All residents who are concerned about crime and who want to make a difference in their community are invited to attend.
