ESP J’Bay has taken a very special project under their wing this year by getting local businesses involved in giving back to the Jeffreys Bay community.

This year the chosen cause is Pet Rescue. The project involves the launch of the Esp J’bay 2012 Beach Babes Calendar that captures the beautiful beach settings of Jeffreys Bay as well as local talent on each page.

The official launch is the 13th July 2011 at the Mexican Restaurant.

The door opens at 8 pm and the entrance fee is R 50.00. At 9 pm raffle and auction begins and at 9.30 pm Black South Easter make their debut performance in Jeffreys Bay.

At 10:30 pm DJ Mike Marshall takes the floor to round off an evening of note!

The evening is in support of a worth cause. J’Bay Pet Rescue was founded with the aim of rescuing and nurturing sick, abused and abandoned animals in the Jeffreys Bay region in partnership with local vets, the SPCA, and the communities involved.

They currently use about 100 kg of dog food per month for their trips into poverty stricken areas and are in desperate need of funds to purchase food, or donations in the form of dog food. Many of the pets in these areas are under nourished, suffer from nutrition related illness, and become aggressive in their pursuit of food; and the feeding program has achieved significant results in the region

“When we first started with JBay Pet Rescue, a lot of people just simply didn’t care about their animals,” says Cindy Els, “but after a bit of TLC, proper nutrition and small things like proper collars and chains, things really started to change. People started to care for their animals because a cared for dog is a happy dog and that’s irresistible”.
