Man arrested for growing dagga in Jeffreys Bay

Anyone hoping to smoke an illegal marijuana joint in Jeffreys Bay this weekend may struggle to find supplies after police operations earlier this week.

Some 37 dagga trees reaching 1.5m in height and 120g of loose dagga were confiscated in JBay, says police spokesperson Lieutenant Gerda Swart.

According to Swart, the Humansdorp K9 Unit and members of the Jeffreys Bay Police arrested a 47-year-old male at his home in Blombos Street on February 23 after following-up on information received from the public.

Swart says the value of the dagga confiscated must still be determined.
