Coming into the Billabong Pro in J’Bay, Jordy Smith is an odds on favourite to become the first South African to win the event on home soil since it has become a WCT event.
Smith is lying in second position on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) rankings behind multiple world surfing champ, Kelly Slater.

(Above: Jordy Smith goes for the high risk moves in heats and pulls them off. What will he do in the J’Bay Billabong Pro this year?)
The Billabong Pro will take place between the 15 – 25 July at Supertubes. J’Bay local Ryan Payne who won the Xcel Pro will be hoping to make it through the Von Zipper wildcard trials and into the main event this year.
