House breakings have seen a dramatic reduction since an anti crime operation was held last Friday night in Jeffreys Bay.

Over the weekend only one house breaking was reported and this came from the normally quiet suburb of Kabeljous. A door was forced open to gain entry.

Captain Botes the head of the Crime Prevention Unit of the Jeffreys Bay Police paid tribute to the 30 community members who joined the operation together with the Neighbourhood Watches.

“The close co-operation between the Police and the Community is starting to pay off and through the Community Police Forum (CPF) we will be holding regular operations to make Jeffreys Bay safe from criminals”, said Botes.

The Municipal Traffic officers together with Law Enforcement officials also joined the operation which saw 5 people arrested for drunk driving and alcohol confiscated from a shebeen.
