JBay Winterfest
JBay Winterfest a roaring success

The 4th edition of the annual JBay Winterfest has come and gone, with nothing but positive feedback received from both locals and visitors alike.

Jeffreys Bay absolutely pumped during the first weekend of the JBay Winterfest, presented by Woodlands Dairy, with parking at a premium for the JBay Open.

Cars were parked along da Gama road, with some people having to walk from way past Tecoma Street to get to the JBay Open in Pepper Street.

The Provincial Traffic as well as Kouga Traffic officials have to be commended for their professional handling of the traffic flow, which was more intense than what Jeffreys Bay experienced even during peak holiday time in December.

All of the events that are part of the JBay Winterfest saw an increase in the number of participants as well as spectators, with the JBay Junior Pro receiving record entrants for the surf event that took place at Magna Tubes.

The organisers of the JBay Open are already planning how to accommodate more people on the Supertubes beach, as the zone became absolutely packed to capacity this year.

Businesses in Jeffreys Bay have generally reported an excellent month so far in July with many saying turnover has increased when compared to July 2015.

Accommodation along the Supertubes beachfront was just about fully booked and it appears that the vision of the JBay Winterfest to bring families to Jeffreys Bay during winter has borne fruit.

Roll on JBay Winterfest ’17!!
