The event will be held at Marina Martinique, the home of open water swimming in the province.

Round one of the Metsi EP Champs will take place on 8 February, with the 10 km and the 3 km being the official championship events. The events are sponsored by Metsi Water Solutions.

Round two will take place on 22 Feb, with the 5 km event being the official championship event.

The Metsi EP Champs are being held over two rounds to enable swimmers to compete in as many championship events as possible, said event organiser Brenton Williams.

“Marina Martinique is regarded as one of the best open water swim venues in South Africa and has hosted the EP Champs since 2010,” added Williams.
