JBay Open is on standy – no surfing until Thursday

Lay days have been called for today and tomorrow and event organisers will reconvene at 7:00 am on Thursday 17 July.

Just six hours of competition are required to determine the 2014 JBay Open champion and Surfline.com, the official forecaster for the event, has predicted that solid overhead waves will be breaking at Supertubes later in the week.

When competition resumes the first heat of Round 5 will feature Josh Kerr (AUS) against Adriano de Souza (BRA) with the winner advancing to the Quarterfinals.

J-Bay Open Round 5 Match-Ups:

Heat 1: Josh Kerr (AUS) vs. Adriano de Souza (BRA)

Heat 2: Kolohe Andino (USA) vs. Taj Burrow (AUS)

Heat 3: Gabriel Medina (BRA) vs. C.J. Hobgood (USA)

Heat 4: Mick Fanning (AUS) vs. Fredrick Patacchia (HAW)

The JBay Winterfest is still in full swing, with the Oakley X Over event taking place today and tomorrow at various locations around Jeffreys Bay.
