The South African Police have released the identities of the two people who were killed in yesterday’s plane crash in the Palmietvlei Mountains near Humansdorp.
They are Aurora van den Bergh, 54, and her mother Elicia Morrison, 75.
Aurora is the wife of sole survivor and pilot Johan van den Bergh, 57, and Elicia was his mother-in-law.
Air crash investigators are on the scene and the bodies have been removed from the wreckage and taken to the state mortuary.
Johan remains in St Georges Hospital in critical condition.
The plane was en route from Graaff-Reinet to Plettenberg Bay when the pilot managed to make a distress phone call to George air traffic control.
Authorities in Port Elizabeth and Jeffreys Bay were then alerted.
