Widespread rain is expected along the coast today. This has been caused by a cut off low and ridging high resulting in scattered to widespread showers and thunder showers.
Heavy rain leading to flash flooding is expected in places along the south coast and adjacent interior, according to the South African Weather Office.
The following severe Weather Alerts have been issued:
Localised urban flooding is expected from the west between Plettenberg Bay and Port Alfred and the adjacent interior. Heavy rain is expected from the west between Plettenberg Bay and Cape St Francis and adjacent interior spreading to Port Alfred and Grahamstown area overnight.

Partly cloudy and cool to cold but cloudy in the west with scattered showers but widespread along the coast spreading east. Heavy rain leading to flash flooding is expected in places along the coast and adjacent interior.
Coastal Wind: Fresh to strong southerly to south westerly moderating in the west in the afternoon.
