A massive 5.1 m Great White shark appeared in the waters off Jeffreys Bay on Tuesday.
The shark was “pinged” about 400m offshore and inbetween the Jeffreys Bay Caravan Park and the “Sand Kasteel”.
The female shark weighs about 1.6 tons and is a mature female Great White, and was tagged at Struis Baai in May 2012 as part of the controversial Ocearch project.
The shark was named Success and has travelled from Madacascar and appeared near Durban on 15 June before travelling down the coast to Jeffreys Bay.
Success has since moved on towards Plettenberg Bay, a journey which has been met with relief by local JBay surfers.
