It’s nearly time for the annual My Spar MTB Classic, so save the date – 3 May 2015.
JP Venter, owner of Jeffreys Bay Spar, the title sponsor, said last years race was a resounding success with over 380 entrants taking part.
“My Spar is proud to be associated with this annual event and this year promises to be even better. It’s a fun-filled day for biking enthusiasts and I encourage families to come and enjoy what this beautiful area has to offer,” said Venter.
The owner of Zuurbron farm, where the race is held, Jacques Steenkamp has been hard at work adding exciting new single tracks to the route. More experienced riders can even look forward to a floating bridge ride over the dam (the not so brave can opt for the chicken run).
Kouga Multi Sport Club (KMSC) are proudly hosting this community driven sporting event.
Kobus Joubert, chairman of KMSC, says the MTB Classic is a day of adventure and fun, catering for the entire family.
“There are various routes to suite all levels of fitness. The 60km challenge for the more experienced cyclist, the 40km race for those opting for a more recreational ride, or the 10km fun ride for the beginners.
This year we have added a 10km farm fun run so now the whole family can partake in an activity,” said Joubert.
There will be food stalls , jumping castles , face painting and all round great atmosphere.
The tremendous support from local businesses in the entire Koukamma area ensures loads of lucky draw prizes for participants.
