Jeffreys Bay resident and Academic Manager of J Bay Language School, Dallas Land, cooked his way into the finals of Kitchen Maesto 2015 at Walmer Park Shopping Centre last weekend.
The Kitchen Maestro competition, is in its 3rd year and is the brain child of Dewald Hurter, classicly trained Chef and owner of Makoy Food Truck!
Dallas and his opponent, Ronell Addandale, each had an hour to cook and present a main course of their choice, and a pressure test dessert for the judges.
Dallas put up an outstanding main meal of lamb chops with a sesame, parmesan, bread crumb and coriander crust, served with mint and pea crush, roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine, and dauphinoise potatoes.
The dessert was a sticky toffee pudding, to which he added his own twist of an almond brittle and citrus cream on the side.
He won the judges over with his gorgeous meal and clinched the title along with R 20 000 worth of prizes and was crowned Kitchen Maestro 2015!
