CPF election cancelled as crime continues in JBay

The Jeffreys Bay Police have announced that the Community Police Forum (CPF) meeting that was supposed to be held tonight, has been cancelled.

The Department of Safety and Liaison, who need to be present and to run the election meeting have requested the meeting be postponed until a later date.

Residents will be informed once the new date has been announced.

Meantime crime has continued to affect residents, with a house breaking being reported from the usually quiet suburb of Aston Bay.

“I can confirm that a case was opened (Housebreaking and theft residential) for an incident that took place in Glenny Buchner Avenue in Aston Bay,” said Police spokesperson Gerda Swart.

“The incident occurred between 9 and 10 August 2014. The suspect obtained entry by forcing a window open and took electrical Appliances, cellphone and shoes.

No arrests have been made, but police are investigating the matter,” added Swart.

A report was also received of motor vehicles being broken into in Nautilis Road in C-Place over the weekend.
