Jeffreys Bay police members arrested two suspects, both 36 years old, on Monday during an intelligence driven operation in Noorsekloof Street, Jeffreys Bay, on charges ranging from the illegal possession of dagga and the cultivation of dagga plants.
Police received information and obtained a search warrant for the premises and made the discovery. Almost 1 kg loose dagga was found stashed inside a fridge, several plants as well as the equipment to cultivate the plants were seized on the premises.
The value of the dagga and the equipment was estimated at about R20 000-00. The suspects are both due in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court today.
The Cluster Commander of Humansdorp, Brigadier Neil Jantjies, congratulated the members involved and said: “that the police in Humansdorp Cluster will continue with their fight against the illegal drug trade and they will act against those committing
this type of crime”.
