Three suspects aged between 27 and 52 were arrested in the Mpumalanga province by the Newcastle Police Task Team late last week.
They were found in possession of a revolver which was taken during the killing of a couple in their farmhouse at Groenvlei area outside Paulpietersburg.
They will appear in the Utrecht Magistrates’ Court today, facing two counts of murder and house robbery.
The couple were in their farmhouse when they were attacked by the suspects.
They were murdered, after which the suspects fled the scene.
“This is a breakthrough made by our committed and dedicated members who worked tirelessly tracing these suspects.
We will work around the clock to establish if they are not linked to any other house robberies committed in and around the province,” said the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni.
