The entire coastline from Paradise Beach to Kabeljous will receive a spring clean this morning as residents will take to the beaches and pick up rubbish that is littering our primary asset.
To thank the community for participating, a Spring Festival has been arranged with a Public Braai where every beach cleaner will receive a bottle of water and a Boerewors roll followed by live music by local musicians as well as entertainment provided by the community.
Arts and craft stalls will exhibit their wares on the gradd area between Spur and the Supertube SLide, while adjacent restaurants are geared to provide meals and specials for the Day.
The NSRI and SPCA are national organisations that will be involved as well with all primary schools taking part in an art competition.
“We wish to thank all the businesses that were involved in making this happen, specially Pick & Pay, Kopano Properties, Flintstone Outdoor Furniture and local water companies Just Water, Oasis and Absolute Water.
A drum painting project will also be launched as permission has been given for the beautification of the swinging drums on the Beach Front area,” said Gerhardt Fouche, the event organiser.
All resident are invited to join in the festivities.
