Second Session which is situated in the old CBD of Jeffreys Bay, in between Clicks an Pep and around the corner from Standard Bank, opened its doors in April 2010.

Bring some unwanted goods and buy some gifts on 3 December at Second Session

Its mission was two fold. Firstly to provide the people of J’Bay with a good quality thrift store supplying a treasure trove of goods at absolute bargain prices and secondly to use all its profits to assist in funding some of the work of Christian Surfers Africa.

“Its been an exciting venture”, said Roy Harley the organization’s Africa coordinator. “There was a fair bit of pressure in the beginning because being a thrift store means we rely exclusively on donations. The upside of this though is that we can be a great conduit for peoples unwanted goods.

One of the defining moments for me was seeing a Mom from Tokyo Sexwale walk out of the store with an arm full of baby clothes for under R10. She shone with joy and a real sense of dignity”.

“It’s a bring and buy” said store manager Linda Van den Berg. “Bring a black bag of stuff you don’t want and buy a little something for that Christmas Stocking.
