The Jeffreys Bay Residents & Ratepayers Association (JBRRA) had a very successful “Potjiekos Competition” on Saturday 27 February 2016 at Supertubes park with a great sunshine day to support the event held in aid
of the National Sea Rescue Institution.
A variety of choices ,gave the buyers a great choice of the normal chicken, beef, oxtail as well as warthog, rooibok and pasta potjies which was so enjoyed by the buyers afterwards that the word was quickly “broadcast” to friends that they must come and buy these delicious dishes at R15-00 a plate that soon all pots were empty.
The most difficult task of judging all the mouth watering pots were left in the hands of experienced food judges Carine White and Mias van Vuuren and at the end the first prize went to the BUCO Hardware team with their oxtail pot and with almost 50 supporters they were also the best supported team.
Second prize went to Kitty and Matthewe Bornman with a secret chicken pot and a very nice “potbrood”.The third prize was handed to Pieter Rautenbach with a unusual pasta potjie which was a strongly supported by those who bought this very good looking and well flavoured pot.
JBRRA wants to thanks all the sponsors Lappies Deap Sea Charters , JC Pumpzi Antiques, JBay Biodiesel , Beesland Butcher , BUCU Hardware , Hide Out Pub , Fruit Lovers Market ,Waveland Caltex and BP Service Station.
