Billabong warehouse gutted by fire

The Billabong warehouse in da Gama road was gutted by fire last light.

The fire began at around 11 pm and was eventually brought under control by the Jeffreys Bay Fire Department in the early hours of this morning.

The warehouse contained all the Billabong stock and the extend of the damage is unknown at this stage.

The cause of the fire is also unknown at this point in time.

A spokesperson from Billabong confirmed that nobody had been injured in the fire and that the Factory Shop and Concept Store are still open for business today.

“Billabong SA has the full support of Billabong International, and we are already in contact with International to replace lost stock. 

Plans are being made at the moment for new stock arrivals ito warehouse space, and we are working on the admin and clean-up”.

Jeffreys Bay will host the annual JBay Winterfest from 6 – 17 July, which will bring tens of thousands of people into the town.
