Event organizers for the Billabong Pro Tahiti have called its third consecutive lay day today, but with swell projected to build through the next 72 hours, the world’s best surfers could be surfing Chope’s in the coming days.
“This is probably the smallest day yet and we’ve called it off,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “The next couple of days are showing a build which could see us running, and the end of the waiting period is also looking more favourable than it was a few days ago.
Jordy Smith, currently the World number one ranked surfer will be hitting the water in heat 8.
