The incident took place around lunch time yesterday.

An employee from Spar noticed something amiss and he gave chase with the criminal fleeing towards the beach.

A manhunt then took place, with local surfers prowling the beach and the Supertubes Park, but the brazen criminal managed to evade them and make good his escape.

Daytime burglaries also took place in the Plane Street and Pepper Street part of Wavecrest a couple of weeks ago.

Reports have also been received of yet another attempt to rob a house in Lantern Street in C Place, with the robbers trying to access the house through a bathroom window.

Luckily they could not access the premises.
