G4S Security guards were robbed at gunpoint this morning in Jeffreys Bay when they were unloading cash at the First National Bank ATM.
Apparently there were three or four suspects involved in the robbery and they fled the scene in a White Chevrolet Cruz, as well as another motor car with an undisclosed amount of cash. No shots were fired during the incident.
One bag, containing cash was retrieved in Koraal Street at the turn off to Aston Bay shortly after the robbery.
The Jeffreys Bay Police and a local security company responded rapidly to the threat and were observed at key exit points from Jeffreys Bay, as well as the highways.
