Pilots of Air France-KLM plan to launch a series of strikes throughout May, which may disrupt flights beginning May 3.
Pilots plan to strike every day at 5h45 to 7h45 and 12h45 to 3h45 for their right to strike. They want to see the cancellation of a law that forces pilots to give 48 hours’ notice before a strike.
The French transport ministry said the law for the 48 hour strike notice does not infringe on the right to strike but allows airline companies to warn passengers of possible delays to their flight.
According to Reuters, should the strikes go ahead, the will disrupt operations globally and delays and cancellations can be expected.
AF has said that an exact forecast revealing which of the airline’s flights will be affected will only be available 24hrs before the strike begins.
