Jeffreys Bay experienced its third power failure in three days when the lights went off yesterday evening.
This follows a power outage the previous night that was only resolved yesterday morning.
Fortunately the Kouga Municipality was able to fix the problem last night within three hours.
The first power failure affected the majority of the western part of the Eastern Cape when the main 132 KV line supplying power to the region tripped on Sunday.
This has led to concerns that the electrical infrastructure in Kouga is inadequate to cater for the demands being placed upon it.
Local businesses are concerned that Jeffreys Bay will experience further power outages that will have a negative affect on the economy, similar to December 2014 when a power failure shut the town down for several days.
Holiday makers, as well as locals in Jeffreys Bay have taken to social media and are incensed with the power outages in the town that is affecting their annual December break.
